Our Canadian tax is ALMOST complete. Yes, we pay tax in two countries. The Canadian tax year runs from January to December, unlike the Australian one from July to June. There aren't many months of the year in which we are not dealing with tax. Ah, the joys of being an expat.
Yesterday we returned our house guest to her home. 'Twas an entertaining couple of weeks having her with us, especially her 5am yowling. She also dealt out plenty of cuddles and loved to give my hair a bath. Funny cat.
Here's a shot of her asking me to stop working...
And the bunnies!
It was also my birthday during the week, and I had a lovely day lunching with my girl and hanging out with some friends. Here's a peek at some of my gorgeous gifts...
Poppet's cool card. |
Dear Mum, "I love you", says the birthday horse. (The birthday horse is me). |
A long-coveted book of Oliver Jeffers artwork. Did you know he does more than awesome kids' books? He was in town recently and we didn't know so missed him. Sniff. |
Of course the most awesome present is that I am now fully recovered from the gastro and will be able to enjoy that walk in Central Park tomorrow. New York, here we come!
See you on the other side...
PS My Kitchenaid needs a name, no? Let me know if you have any ideas.
