It's raining a lot, with the occasional clap of thunder. I love the rain so much but I'm conflicted as I finally have my bike ready for sunny picnic-y weather and my kid has FINALLY learned to ride her bike.
We managed to get out for a good ride last weekend and are keeping our fingers crossed for the next one.
High Park is looking green and gorgeous and the birds are everywhere!
We even managed a little gardening, and I am grateful to the rain on my plants' behalf. The rain has kept the squirrels away from my seedlings so they may even survive the week!
Now, if it would just fine up enough for Poppet's cycling class tonight that would be perfect...

Graffiti Safari
We've started graffiti hunting. Toronto has lots of it and there are some lane ways which are full to the brim with good stuff. Now that winter is a distant memory (almost - a bit wet and cold this week) we have started exploring and taking photos.
It's a budding family hobby, Poppet and Husband both taking a tonne of snaps. And it certainly makes a change from hanging out at the playground. Again. Yawn.
Here's some shots from our first graffiti safari...
Apologies for the complete blog absence. I've been so busy living life I haven't had a chance to write about it. Mostly that's a good thing, but I think it's time to dust off the camera a little more often.
Apparently the sun will come out tomorrow...

Kite Festival
A few weeks ago we headed to lovely Kortright Park for the kite festival.
Ironically, the wind didn't behave itself and the Toronto Kite Association members didn't manage much air-time. Us mere mortals did and the kids had so much fun. Even the smallest member of our group managed to fly a kite.
It was a lovely sunny day with friends.
Blogger has decided to like me again and the photos are uploading. Maybe I'll manage to post a little more this week, that would be nice!
Happy Mother's Day to you and yours. We had some last minute hail today, which made it the perfect day to stay in and eat pizza and make chocolate pudding.

O-Robot
I've been enjoying a little bit of down time lately. Family has taken precedence and we've been enjoying reading and walking and hanging out together. Poppet has really needed that. We're counting down the weeks until school is out for the summer and are really looking forward to having no plans whatsoever.
My desire to stitch resumed with gusto this week and I've just completed the cutest custom order. I love it when a customer asks me to come up with something new, and I've been meaning to make a robot for AGES!
Here are the shots of O-Robot and his Babushka friend. The will be winging their way Down Under tomorrow...

Sakura!
Oh, the beauty of the cherry trees after a long dark winter.
And it seems like everyone in Toronto and the surrounding areas agree. The blossoming of these trees is a huge tourist attraction in our city and for good reason. But that makes us very grateful we can walk there, the car parks were ridiculous!
Sigh...
You can read more about these trees over here.
Blogger is driving me crazy with slow loading so that will have to do for now...

And The Winner Is...
Apologies for my tardiness! I have been a bit flat out over the last few days, and I didn't even switch my computer on yesterday. So not like me!
Without further ado, the winner of both of my new Poppets is...
Hayley Clisby!
Big congratulations to you Hayley. I have sent you an email regarding postage.
And a very big thank you to those of you who took the time to enter. I've decided to call these guys "Banjo" and "Matilda", yay to Jennifer for coming up with those. If the rest of you keep an eye out you'll see the other names popping up with other Poppets. I loved them all!
As a consellation prize, everyone who commented on the blog is entitled to a custom order! If you would like to discuss that, just pop me an email at jen@pikeletworkshop.com
Thanks again everyone, can't believe it's been 3 years. Here's to another 3!
